U14's continue impressive run

The travelling hibs side made the long trip to Rosslare Harbour Saturday morning with the aim of maintaining a great winning streak of late. Courtown started the game with great purpose, Pauric Baxter and Jude Stafford stretching the Rangers defence with some clever runs, Hibs opened the scoring after 15 minutes when Evan Roche made a precision pass into the box for Jude Stafford to run on to and round the keeper. After some entertaining battles in the middle with Tom Hernandez and Oisin Byrne and some solid defending from Cailem Kirwan and Leon Stafford the away team came in at half time with the 1 goal lead despite the Rosslare side putting a lot of pressure on. Hibs came out in the 2nd half with the attitude that has been evident all season from this group and played some marvellous football, with the pace of Baxter causing all sorts of problems for the Home side, Jude Stafford then doubled the lead when he cooly back healed a great cross from the right into the net. Pauric Baxter then added a third after a deft pass from Evan Roche left him 1 on 1 with the keeper and he duly tucked it away. The Whole panel played their part from there on in keeping control of the ball, with Cian O'Rourke and Cillian Moran showing a masterclass in shielding the ball and maintaining possession. The game was wrapped up when Jude completed his hat-trick with a smashing strike from distance into the top corner, a clearly evident progression and improvement from this group of players, week on week adding to their standards and really becoming an entertaining team to watch. Every member of the squad adding to the overall performance.
