Ladies March On

The Courtown Hibs Ladies team were back in action Sunday morning playing away to Camolin. Hibs started well and opened the scoring with Marian Cardiff running on to a through ball and slotting the ball past the on rushing Camolin keeper. Hibs kept the pressure up and had the best of the first twenty minutes Marian could have had an early hat trick but pulled the ball wide of the far post and hitting the keeper with to glorious chances. However as Hibs couldn't find a second Camolin grew in confidence. However Hibs defence stood resolute and protected young Holly Tobin in goal. 1:0 half time. Hibs began the second half pressing the ball and had 3 early chances 2 of which saved by the Camolin keeper and one over the bar. Camolin struggled to get back in the game and on the hour Sarah Lynch had a chance but fired narrowly wide. Double substitutions saw Alice Harte and Marie Nolan introduced for Sarah and Louise Kavanagh. Alice playing up front put herself straight into the game and chased everything up front from the start. Marie sitting in front if the back 4 playing well and began winning the midfield and distributed the ball intelligently and Hibs got a second on the 72nd minute Alice Harte with a cool finish under pressure from a very good Camolin Centre Half. Marian added to the scoring to make it three as Hibs shook off the cobwebs and began to pass the ball through the midfield out wide and ball pulled back to Marian who put the chance away. 3:0 Marian completed her hat trick on the 80th minute and Alice completed the scoring on the 87th minute as Hibs ran out 5:0 winners. Next round is an away trip to Forth Celtic whose managers had travelled to watch the whole game.
