The final game of 2018 and third of the season for the under 14s and again some tough conditions to contend with. Hibs started really strongly and passed the ball around with great purpose, the chances started to fall immediately with the Curracloe keeper busy for most of the first half. Hibs opened the scoring with a powerful header into the bottom right corner from Paddy Blood after Jude Stafford crossed in a finely weighted ball from the left. The openings kept on coming and Jude Stafford doubled the lead with a strong run down the left flank, driving the ball into the top left hand corner. Hibs then made it 3 - 0 before half time when Pauric Baxter found himself 1 on 1 with the keeper and kept his nerve to place the ball under him. The second seen Courtown remain in control of the ball with Lee Doyle dominant in midfield and Oisin Byrne causing the Curracloe defence problems at every attempt. A forth goal direct from a corner in off the back post by Jude Stafford wrapped up the 3 points and see the lads into the Christmas break with a great result. With too many fantastic performances from players to mention as outstanding on the day, we wish all players a very happy Christmas break and look forward to picking up where we left off in 2019.
