U14 Boys in Saturday Friendly
Under 14 boys - Courtown Hibs 2 -2 St. Joseph's. With all competitive games on hold for the long weekend the under 14 boys hosted Kilmuckridge side St. Joseph's at the Riverchapel complex in a friendly. The blustery conditions made it difficult to play and both sides started very scrapily. Hibs took the upper hand when Jude Stafford played a lovely weighted pass beyond the St. Joseph's defence for Pauric Baxter to take advantage of his pace and find the net. Hibs had lost of the chances in the first half with the wind behind them, Evan Roche and Tom Hernandez causing the visitors problems at every opportunity. St. Joseph's levelled before half time and the scores remained tied a the break. The second half say Hibs making plenty of chances and Evan Whelan Smith put them back in front with a great breakaway and cool finish. Both Hibs keepers Kenny Robertson and Luke McDonough had good performances in the net, with plenty of action in the 18 yard area. St. Joseph's levelled late on the second half after a defensive error from Hibs for the game to finish all square. A decent performance under the conditions and another chance for the squad to get game time together.
