Both U12 boys teams begin with a win!!

Under 12 boys "A" team kicked their season off this morning against Curracloe United at home. Hibs started strong and were 1 up after 2 mins with a great finish from Mathew Edmunds Bergin who slotted the ball into the bottom right corner. Hibs were 2 up a couple of mins later with Noah Power finishing confidently against the on rushing keeper. Curracloe got a goal back against the run of play . But Hibs came again with Leighton Fleming having a goal ruled as off side which seemed more that just a questionable decision. But it didn’t take Leighton long to get his name on the score line with a very cool finish with the outside of his right boot. Hibs were in full flow and playing like boys full of confidence. Philly Yeates got in on the act scoring after a mesmerising run from one end of the pitch to the other. Not long before the half time whistle Keane Howick unleashed a thunder bolt for long range that most premier league keepers would have found hard to keep out. In the second half Hibs continued to press hard with Leighton adding another goal with a very mature finish. The Curracloe keeper made some unbelievable saves to Keep Dara Henry, Cian Kavanagh, Ethan Hayed Orr, Coby Byrne and Cadan Makay from getting on the score sheet. This was a great start to the season for the boys with everyone one of them giving their all. 6-1 to the "A"s.

Under 12 "B" team were away to Corach Ramblers this afternoon getting there season underway. A very strong start from Hibs, dominating the earlier period. Daragh O'Brien breaks through on goal and puts long range effort past the goalkeeper. A great display followed from Hibs back 4 to keep Corach out. After a goalmouth scramble the ball falls to Martin O'Brien who makes no mistake from 6 yards, 2-0 to the Hibs. A great battling display to keep the 2 nil lead at half time. Into the 2nd half and an absolute jaw dropping fingertip save from Harry Burke to keep a clean sheet and another couple of brave dives to match a great performance. A great solo effort from captain Jayden Tyndall to put Hibs 3 nil up. Corach pulled one back but it wasnt enough to stop our lads taking all points home follwoing a 3-1 win.
