U14 Boys flying!

The first midweek game of the season to date was a short trip to Kilmuckridge to face St. Joseph's in a league encounter. Both teams started the game with great purpose and were making some exciting passes looking for an opening. Jude Tyndall Stafford and Evin Roche having chances to open the score early on. Only for the Joey's keeper control. A short lapse in concentration at the back allowed the home team the lead, hibs then stepped up their quest to score with chance after chance coming but end product was lacking. The score remained 1-0 at half time despite Hibs controlling the possession and pressuring their goal. Early in the second half Hibs were awarded a penalty when Cillian Moran was adjudged to have been fouled in the box Jude Stafford stepped up and blasted the ball into the bottom left corner. The hibs midfield of Oisin Byrne, Tom Hernandez and Evan Roche were linking up well in the 2nd half. Jason Timmons then played Jude through with a beautiful pass which was buried in the net to take the lead for the first time in the game. Hibs defence of Mal Cathcart, Leon Stafford, Lee Doyle and Cailem kirwan were resolute in their defending and never looked under pressure. The game was wrapped up when Jason Timmons again played Jude Stafford in for him to chip the keeper to complete his hat-trick. Another 3 points on the board. These boys are playing a very appealing brand of football at the moment, Special mentions today for Jason Timmons, Jude Stafford and Wayne Doyle. Also congratulations to Cillian Moran on receiving his special dedication award tonight on his birthday.
