U14 Boys in 8 goal thriller
Rosslare Rangers made the long trip to Ounavarra Saturday morning for Hibs 2nd game of the season, the game got off to a great start with Hibs knocking the ball around gracefully and dominant in possession. Against the run of play Rangers opened the scoring with a long distance free kick dropping in under the bar. The home side stepped it up a level and almost immediately scored an equaliser with Jude Stafford latching on to a wonderfully weighed pass by Oisin Byrne, a second goal came from Evan Roche who placed the ball into the bottom corner from another great pass by Oisin Byrne to give Hibs the lead. Jude Stafford made it 3 - 1 when he rounded the keeper on the stroke of half time. Rangers closed the gap early in second half after a kick out fell short to the Rosslare striker and scored again shortly after to equalise. Jude Stafford then restored the lead and grabbed his hat-trick with a powerful left foot strike from 30 yards into the the top corner of the net. Hibs remained dominant until the end with Evan Whelan Smith and Pauric Baxter both having chances. The score was tied once again when Rosslare got another goal close to the full time whistle and it ended with both teams taking a point. Outstanding performances from Cillian Egan, Lee Doyle, Malachy Cathcart, and goalscorers Jude Stafford and Evan Roche.
