U16 girls with big win
Under 16 girls travelled to Moyne rangers today and put in a brilliant team performance winning 8:0. Hibs started the game on the front foot pressing the opposition from early on and the pressure game paid off Holly smashed the ball home on the 3rd minute from a brilliant passing move. Hibs played a passing game in the splendid conditions and soon put up a second and third goal Sheana Carroll scoring the second and Holly Tobin the third. Moyne struggled and tried to mount a come back. Hibs were resolute in defence with all four young ladies playing superb and martialling a well organised back line. Not be had two quick chances but Keeper Jean Kavanagh was not going to be beaten and a quick long kick out saw Holly Tobin race through to score her third before half time. Hibs started the second half in the same fashion and Holly scored her fourth and Gina Burke also scored to make it 6 and Holly scored her 5th before going off injured on 65th minute. Moyne continnued to push and never gave in and Amy Shannahan breaking the Hibs back line and drove into the 18 yard box and rifling a shot at goal only to see a fabulous 1 handed save from keeper Jean Kavanagh Doyle. Hibs began switching players and added a well taken 8th goal and second for Gina Burke. A great performance from a team with special thanks to those under 12s and 14s supporting This squad.
